Do You Even Read, Bro? 4/6/15

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend and Easter Sunday.  I am very excited to get into my plans for the coming week and making the week’s edition of Do You Even Read, Bro? fuels that excitement.

Honestly, once I am out of bed I love Mondays.

To explain why I do this weekly blog edition, real short, I love to read and come across articles all week long.  The ones that really intrigue me I want to pass on to my subscribers to help you gain knowledge as well.  So everything I post for you is something that I have read and plan on implementing in my own training or with my clients.  Or they are just something that I think will help my subscribers and clients make improvements or understand something better.

With that said, I have decided to broaden my weekly Do You Even Read, Bro? to contain more than just Strength training related material.   I wanted to narrow it down a little more, maybe make a little more personal for me, and maybe draw more people looking for more of a narrow spectrum of training related material.  For example, I am not a powerlifter.  I do not want to powerlift.  I have posted articles pertaining to powerlifting, 1RM’s, etc.  because I enjoy learning about it (I love learning about all things fitness/exercise/training), however, you can not do it all.  So I have decided to focus more on fat loss, building muscle, focusing more on a physique building training agenda, while also keeping my original fitness ideology of making the body feel, look, and move better by continuing to share releasing and mobility work with my strength training instruction.

To add to this, I will also share articles on a sport I love and hold close to my heart (sappy, I know) Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.  I have done no-gi for years, and started taking gi classes about a year ago.  I have not been consistent, but in the few times I have gone, I have achieved my first stripe on my white belt.  So that is where I currently stand.  I plan on being more focused and determined this coming year, (by new year, I mean April, since that is when I started at my new academy) and making it more a part of training and life.  Anyone else practicing BJJ, feel free to connect with me!

And lastly I want to post more articles to help teach everyone about general health and how to prevent disease.  We reap many benefits of exercise and even though our/my goal may be on physique, training for a sport, or getting stronger, we are all doing ourselves a great service by not making ourselves prisoners to the healthcare system, a prescription drug, or a life lost too soon to something that could have been easily prevented.

With all that said, I hope you enjoy the new content, learn, and develop a new and better understanding towards some things that you may have not before.

And as always I would love to hear from you and get your thoughts.
