5 Easy and Convenient Protein Packed Foods

If you want to change your body composition then adding protein to your diet is a must.  Whether your goal is to lose fat or gain muscle, increasing your lean protein consumption should be on top of your to do list

Protein helps build muscle, which will increase your metabolism, help you feel fuller longer, and will prevent any loss of muscle while losing body fat.

Luckily for you there are some great easy and convenient foods that you can easily add into your diet without having to fire up the grill or  chug down another protein shake.

Eggs – Whole eggs are among the healthiest and most nutritious foods on the planet.  They are full of vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats.  Whole eggs are high in protein, but egg whites are almost pure protein.  Having some hard-boiled eggs in the fridge ready to go is a great way to set yourself up success.

Almonds – are loaded with important nutrients, fiber, Vitamin E, manganese and magnesium.  There 6 grams in an ounce of almonds.  Grabbing a handful to munch on through out the day or at the office can quickly boost up your daily protein intake, while also keeping you from reaching for something not so muscle building friendly.

Cottage Cheese – a low fat and calorie meal that is loaded with calcium, phosphorus, selenium, vitamin B12, riboflavin (vitamin B2) and various other nutrients. Packed with a whopping 27 g of protein.  Plus you can add numerous things to create a ton of variety so it never gets boring. (berries, peanut butter, peaches, pineapples, chia seeds)

Pumpkin Seeds – are incredibly high in many nutrients, including iron, magnesium and zinc.  At 5 grams per ounce these make for another great snack.

Tuna – It is low in both fat and calories, and also very high in various nutrients and contains a decent amount of omega-3 fatty acids.  With tuna now available in pouches instead of the tin can, all you need is a fork and probably a glass of water.
